Thursday April 18
We had an exciting week in Kindergarten as we had a special delivery of 8 duck eggs. We have the incubator set up in our class and will be learning about and watching our eggs over the next 3 weeks to see how the eggs change. We will be candelling the eggs every couple of days (shining a light under the egg) to watch the development and growth of the ducks.
We learned about heavy and light this week and used scales to figure out what items are heavy and which are lighter. We sorted items in groups of heavy and light items and arranged them from lightest to heaviest.
We focused on the letter Q. We learned the songs, practiced printing , and drew pictures that start with the letters .We have learned the following letters and letter sounds at school this year and your child should be familiar with them all: S, M, T, I, P, N, D, C, P, O, A, B,G,E,R,H, F, K L ,V, U, J, W, Z & Y. Please make sure they are familiar with both the upper case letter and lower case letter.
We learned about community helpers and voted which ones we wanted to learn more about. AM Kindergarten voted on scientists and vets. PM Kindergarten voted on zoologists and doctors. Ask your child what they learned about these occupations.
