Thursday February 8
At school this week, we have continued to work on the re-telling of the story "A Loud Winter's Nap" and are making our puppets to help us with the re-telling.
We continue to explore coding by playing with the Indie Cars at school. Please ask your child how they can make their Indie car move.
We have learned the following letters and letter sounds at school this year and your child should be familiar with them all: S, M, T, I, P, N, D, C, P, O, A, B,G,E,R,H, F & K. Please make sure they are familiar with both the upper case letter and lower case letter.
We continue to learn about sight words at school. Sight words are words that are the most common when reading. We do not want our learners sounding out sight words, you just need to recognize the word. We introduced the words "in" and "it". We used these words and the words from last week to help us write this sentence in our journals "It is in the ....". Learners drew a picture of what "it" is and where it was, for example, "It is in the fire station" and it was a firefighter.
Swimming forms came home with your child this week. Please complete and return by February 20.
