Volunteers Needed to help with Winter Crafts
AM Kindergarten is looking for 4 volunteers on Friday December 15 from 9:15-10:30am to help us with Winter Crafts.
PM Kindergarten is looking for 2 volunteers on Thursday December 14 from 2:00-3:00pm to help with Winter Crafts.
If you are able to volunteer and have a valid police clearance please email your child's teacher. Thank you in advance for considering our request.
This week in Kindergarten we have continued with our author study of Jory Johns book. We read "The Smart Cookie", "The Sour Grape", "The Big Cheese" and "The Couch Potato". We continued to work on our fine motor skills as we completed a guided drawing of each character in the story.
We focussed on the letter C this week. We learned the letter C song, practiced printing the letter C and learned about words that start with the letter C.
We have continued our exploration of number lines. We built our own number lines by placing the numbers 1-10 in numerical order. We made a human number line with our friends.
We loved the Food Impact workshop this week! We were all very excited to learn about the Canada Food Guide and loved sharing about our favourite foods. We made yogurt parfaits with granola and fruit - these were a huge hit. Please check your mini-chefs backpack for the recipe and a Wow butter sample. A huge thank you to the parents who volunteered to help make this workshop a huge success!
FAMILIES HELPING FAMILIES
We are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support families in need during the holiday season.
Eric Harvie School will be supporting 5 families in Calgary this year, and each teaching team has been assigned a specific family to sponsor. We have created links for each classroom’s Google Sheet sign-up gift tracking sheet as listed below.
Please read through the list of needs and wants for your family. Some families have many kids so please make sure to scroll along the spreadsheet. If you are in a position where you can support a family and see an item you would like to contribute, that is very appreciated. We are not looking to buy every item on the list but we do want our families to get some of their needs and wants. Please ensure that the items contributed are new.
Steps:
1. Read through list for your child’s class using the links below
2. If you have bought or already have a specific item put a “Y” next to the item on the spreadsheet
3. Wrap and label your gift. Please write the first name of the person receiving the gift on the label.
4. All gifts will be due on or before Dec. 15th 2023.
